Short description of Project:

The main task of the rehabilitation works is to stop the sliding of the slope above the road, and to stabilize the road itself. The set concept of stabilization works consists of the following:

– Construction of a supporting structure on the downhill side of the road. Due to the depth to the weakened substrate, ie the substrate, it is possible to directly foundation the retaining wall. Reinforced concrete “L” wall is 3.8 m high and 40 cm thick on average, with a slab 50 cm thick and 3.0 m wide. The length of the wall is 40.09 m

– Drainage. Groundwater drainage is done through deep drainage (depth up to about 3.8 m), which is placed on the wall slab. Surface drainage from the road is performed using a drain located on the lowest part of the road.

– Road reconstruction. After the rehabilitation works, the reconstruction of the road in the length of about 55.0 m is planned. The buffer and asphalt, as well as the curbs will be replaced.

Short description of Project: Section Mostar north- Mostar south is part of Corridor Vc. The Section starts with the interchange Mostar North (connection to M17) in the settlement „Kutilivač“, east of settlement „Vrapčići“ and ends with interchange Mostar South near airport Mostar, which is part of subsection Mostar South-Tunnel Kvanj. Length of section is approx.. 14,2km. The section Mostar north – Mostar south is 14.2 kilometers long. The construction of the Mostar north loop with a side toll booth, 5 tunnels with a total length of about 6 km and 10 viaducts/bridges with a total length of about two kilometers is planned. The length of the open route is about 6 km. Interchange Mostar North and connecting road is planned as connection to magistral road M17 and its part of main design made in 2019. Connecting road starts at the intersection with the main road M17, passes through industrial zone “Gajevi” and ends before toll station Mostar North. Length of connection road is 2,34 km.Connecting road is planned as a two-lane road for two-way traffic. After the interchange Mostar North, the route is provided to settlement „Suhi do“ where the route has been moved east (into the hill) to avoid houses. After „Suhi do“ route enters the hill „Oštri rat“ then then turns to south bypassing town Mostar. In the area east of „Luka“ exits from the tunnel and extends above the settlement south to the Buna valley. The route passes settlement „Kočine“ through a tunnel. The area between „Oštri rat“ and „Gnojnice“ motorway passes with more small viaducts and tunnels. After the tunnel Kočine, the route goes down towards the interchange Mostar South. The route on the section passes mostly hily and mountainous terrain with significant spatial limitations, so along the route alternate cuttings and embankment slopes with more structures. The section ends with interchange „Mostar South“ which is connected on major road M6-1 east of the airport Mostar. This location provides a direct connection between city of Mostar, airport and western Hercegovina across planned south bypass of the city on the higway Corridor Vc. The interchange „Mostar North“ is connection of the northern bypass city of Mostar- highway „Mostar North“-Polog.

The total length of the section according to the project is 5.3 km. The facilities on the route include the Vranduk 1 (L = 390 m) and Vranduk 2 (L = 340 m) bridges, which are constructed using cantilever technology and the Vranduk tunnel (L = 400 m) and three smaller viaducts with a total length of 300 m. is the layout and height of the left and right pavement of the motorway due to the fact that the motorway stretches through very steep slopes. The highway is located for the most part in a notch, which is why a significant number of high retaining walls have been designed, which will be made using reinforced earth technology. Contract will be executed in accordance with FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Design – Build.

Services Provided:

  • Sector 2 (km 1 + 700 – km 1 + 825) Deep cut protection with a maximum height of 3approx.. 40 m. The geological material on the site consists of flysch with a very unfavourable orientation of the layers in relation to the direction of the motorway route. Combined geotechnical protection was designed using shotcrete, self-drilling anchors, reinforcing mesh in two layers and drainage boreholes in the upper floors of the cut with a slope of 1:1. Floors in between are secured with a reinforced concrete grid structure consisting of vertical and horizontal beams and are made at a slope of 2:1. Self-drilling anchors are additionally installed in the grid fields in combination with shotcrete and reinforcing mesh. Geotechnical prestressed cable anchors are made at the point of crossing the beams. The last floor of the cut is made on a slope of 3:1, and is secured by vertical reinforced concrete beams at an axial distance of 3 meters. The beams are anchored in the massif using geotechnical prestressed cable anchors (3 levels of anchors) made of high-quality steel. All anchors are durable and electrically insulated. A 20 cm thick permanent cladding wall is made between the vertical beams.

  • Sector 5 (km 3 + 387.5 – km 3 + 525) Deep cut protection with a maximum height of 3approx.. 70m. The geological material on the site consists of extremely tectonic and heterogeneous flysch. Combined geotechnical protection has been designed using shotcrete, self-drilling anchors, two-layer reinforcing mesh and drainage boreholes in the upper floors of the cut, which are performed on a slope of 3:2. The last floors of the cut are made with a slope of 2:1 and are secured with vertical reinforced concrete beams at an axial distance of 3 meters. The beams are anchored in the massif using geotechnical prestressed cable anchors (3 levels of anchors) made of high-quality steel. All anchors are durable and electrically insulated.
